Good morning MSMS Band!
Here’s what will be going on this week:
- 7th and 8th grade will start rehearsing their MPA music….it’s an exciting time as this is the most important performance and preparation time of the year for these band students. Our goal is to read as much music this week and then start refining it.
- Tomorrow is the final day to sign up for All State Tryouts. The date of these tryouts is January 29 @ Muscle Shoals High School.
- The Shoals Area Middle School Honor Band Tryout Sign-Up Sheet is posted. Any 7th/8th grade student who would like to audition needs to put their name on this list. I am confident we can have SEVERAL MSMS band students in this honor band this spring. Those tryouts will occur at Florence Middle School on February 2.
- I will be able to stay after school on Monday for All-State Tryout prep. I will not be able to stay after on Tuesday this week.
- UNA Middle School Honor Band Applications are due back to me by Thursday, January 13. This is for any 7th/8th grade band member who might be interested in being considered for this event. The dates of this honor band are January 27-28 @ UNA.
- Our next performance for all grade levels (6,7, and 8) is Thursday, February 17 in the auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School.
We are ready to dive back into music and learning this week. Let’s get after it.
