The Muscle Shoals High School Trojan Marching Band is a very active group of students performing at all high school football games, pep rallies and two parades. The marching band is made up of woodwinds, brass, percussion, color guard and majorettes.

The marching band is also a competition group. This group competes usually 3 times a year and hosts our own contest.

The MSHS Trojan Marching Band is the reigning 2018 6A Alabama State Marching Band Champions.

The marching band is considered “the keepers of the Trojan spirit” at ballgames. They are also considered one of the finest marching bands in the southeast.

Of all of the ensembles in our band program, this is the one that teaches the students about teamwork and family. The time spent in the marching band teaches so many important life lessons all students benefit from.

The Trojan Drive Jazz Band is considered to best the “ambassador” group fo the band program. It performs at many different kinds of events reaching a part of our community our other groups do not. It is an audition group that practices and performs a wide variety of music during the spring semester.

The percussion ensemble is an audition group that practices and performs 2nd semester. The percussion ensemble has a long history of excellence and continues to compete at a high level each year. Membership in the marching band is a prerequisite for being a member of this ensemble.

The MSHS Winter Guard is a competitive group comprised of students with dance and flag skills. The Winter Guard practices and performs 2nd semester. Membership in marching band is a prerequisite for being a member of the Winter Guard.

The MSHS Band Program has many small ensembles that are student led including the following: Saxophone Ensemble, Low Brass Choir, Brass Ensemble and Woodwind Ensemble. These groups perform in lobby performances, at dinner with the band and are often invited to perform at various events in the community throughout the year.

The leadership team for the MSHS Band Program is comprised of student leaders who wish to go above and beyond to make each component of the program the best it can possibly be. Students on the leadership team help others when they need help and serve as upmost examples to everyone around them.  Leadership team members are chosen based on an interview process. Student behavior and actions while in and out of the band are taken into account. We have the best students and student leaders in the school!
