Info for the Week 10/30 through 11/3

Good afternoon MSMS Band!

Here’s your info for the week:

Tuesday Morning Full Band Rehearsal for 7th and 8th Grade

We will have one more Full Band rehearsal for our combined 7th and 8th grade band members on Tuesday, October 31 @ 7:15 a.m. This will be one of the final rehearsals that we will get to have before our School Performance on Friday, November 3. Parents-please make every effort possible to have your child at the bandroom at 7:15 a.m. for this rehearsal. We don’t have an opportunity during the day to get both groups together due to the schedule. Thank you so much!

Performance on Friday, November 3

Our combined 7th and 8th grade band will play at the MSMS Veteran’s Day Program on Friday November in the MSMS Gym. The start time of the program is 9:00 a.m. The band students will need to wear their Red MSMS Band T-Shirt for this performance as well as a pair or jeans or pants. The students will report to homeroom on Friday morning like usual, and then they will be dismissed to go to the bandroom to get their instruments and music to take to the gym. This program should last about an hour.

Veterans Day Concert for ALL MSMS Band Groups on November 7

Our first concert of the year for all of our MSMS Band Groups (6th, 7th, and 8th grades) is Tuesday, November 7. The concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. and there is no charge for admission.

The 7th and 8th grade band members will need to be wearing their concert attire for this performance.

Here’s what we would like for the kids to wear for their concert performances this year.

Boys – black dress pants, black dress shoes, black belt, and a white, long sleeved button down dress shirt.

Girls – (3 options)

#1 (this is preferred) – A long black dress that looks similar to this (please click the link or copy and paste) and black closed toe dress shoes with low heels:

The Pippa Performance Concert Dress is an Adult dress for choirs, orchestras, band, and quartets. Offered by Cousin’s Concert Attire | Style #113

Dresses must have sleeves and a back.

#2 – An all black pant suit (black pants, black blouse with sleeves and a back, black closed toe dress shoes with low heels)

#3 – black dress pants, black dress shoes, black belt, and a white, long sleeved button down dress shirt.

6th grade band members will need to dress nicely for their performance. No blue jeans or tennis shoes, please! Thank you!

The order of the concert will be 7th/8th grade first, followed by the 6th grade. We ask that everyone please stay for the entirety of the concert. These students have worked so hard since August and they would love to have as many people as possible there to hear them.

Mrs. Hood and Dr. Frederick will be giving the students more detailed instructions about what to do on the day of the concert. These instructions will be given during class this week and early next week.

It’s going to be great!
