No jazz band this week. We will resume after MPA.
I thought all the bands did a nice job at the concert last Thursday. Thank you parents, family members, faculty, administration, and friends for coming to hear the kids play! We had a great crowd!
Strawberries are being delivered on Tuesday, February 25. They will be in the bandroom at the middle school. They will be ready to pick up after school that day. I will be at the middle school bandroom until 5:30 p.m. that day. Please make arrangements to pick up your strawberries that afternoon as they are extremely perishable.
The next payment for the band trip is due February 26. The next installment is $55 per person.
MPA Performance times: 8th grade will be on March 3 @ 9:00 a.m. 7th grade will be on March 4 @ 8:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to come listen to the bands play their stage performance. Each group will play in the auditorium at Florence High School. Once that performance ends, they will then go to the Sight Reading room. The sight reading room is only for students and directors. After the students play in the sight reading room, we will come out and wait for our scores. We should know very soon afterwards how we did. I will give more specific info on MPA next week.
Shoals Area Honor Band is March 13-14 for those selected students. Shoals Area Honor Band will be hosted at MSHS this year.
UNA Middle School Honor Band is March 19-20 for those selected students. We should find out who was chosen sometime next week. If your child is chosen for this, there is a $55 fee that will need to be paid to UNA Bands. I’ll give more info on that once the list of those selected has been released.
It seems that every week is a big week. In the life of the MSMS Band program, that is a true statement. The kids work hard every day. I’m thankful for that. Let’s keep it going. This is our last full week to make things right before MPA next week.
