From the Podium: 10/9-10/13

Good morning from the band room!

What a week.

Students, I am so proud of you and your efforts yesterday. You took every curve in stride and had the best performances of the year. This show is something special, and I couldn’t ask for a finer group to perform it. It’s not just about talent (which is overflowing from every member), it’s about heart, and that’s what you are sharing with each other and those around you. Each one of you is special. Each one of you is important. At the game Friday, I had several people come up to me and speak about how much they enjoyed you on the field and in the stands. They said they couldn’t have done it without the band. At the James Clemens game, I had a JC fan come and tell me they cried at our opening hit in the opener because of how our music was making them feel. What you all are doing is special. Scores don’t matter–knowing your hard work to create something great for yourselves and every one who gets the opportunity to watch you is important. Keep doing the work everyone. It’s important and special, and so are you.

I am continually amazed by the masses of parents that help us do what we do every day. Band moms, dads, siblings, grandparents….. thank you. You all are truly the best in the business and the support you offer the kids and myself make our program the success it is. Every time you ask me what I need, how I’m doing, how Cora is doing, if you can do anything to help… please know that I am so appreciate and Griffin, Cora, and I love you like family. Thank you.

Happy homecoming!
