Good morning MSMS Band!
Our concert week has finally arrived! All three of the middle school groups will be performing Thursday evening this week in the auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School.
What – 2021 MSMS Band and Chorus Fall Veteran’s Day Concert
When – Thursday, November 4 @ 6:00 p.m.
Where – Charles R. Stratford Auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School
Who – 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band members
There will be no charge for admission.
7th and 8th graders will need to be in their concert attire. 6th graders will need to dress nicely (no blue jeans, tennis shoes, or t-shirts, please!)
7th and 8th graders will need to be on stage, in their seat, ready to play at 5:30 p.m.
6th grade band members will need to be in the high school bandroom at 5:30 p.m. I will explain to the 6th grade how to get to the high school bandroom during class this week.
The 7th and 8th grade combined bands will perform first, along with the Chorus, beginning at 6:00 p.m. We will then move the 7th and 8th grade off the stage and bring the 6th grade and 7th grade beginners onto the stage to finish out the concert. The 7th and 8th grade will have a section designated for them to be seated and listen to the 6th grade and 7th grade beginning band portion of the concert. Likewise, the 6th grade band will be in a designated section in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m. so they can listen to the 7th and 8th grade band and chorus.
All of these students have worked very hard in class over the last month or so getting ready for Thursday. It’s going to be a great night of music as we honor our Veterans.
7th and 8th grade band members will have 2 early morning rehearsals this week in preparation for the concert Thursday night. These rehearsals will be on TUESDAY and THURSDAY mornings this week at 7:15 a.m. Parents, this will be the only chance we get to combine the groups in rehearsal before the concert Thursday night. THESE MORNING REHEARSALS ARE VERY IMPORTANT. Please make every effort you can to have your child at school early on these days.
The 6th grade will combine during their 3rd block time on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. The kids already know about this along with their teachers.

All State Lessons continue after school on Monday and Tuesday this week.
The MSMS Veterans Day Program (which is different from our concert) is Wednesday, November 10. This will be for all 7th and 8th grade band members.
The MSMS Band Christmas Concert is scheduled for the evening of Monday, December 6.
Finally, a HUGE congratulations to our High School marching band as they won the Class 6A Runner Up Red Map in the Alabama State Marching Championships yesterday in Pelham, AL! The percussion and colorguard also came away with the top scores in the class! We are so very proud of the students of the MSHS Trojan Marching Band. It’s been a great fall. If you haven’t had a chance to see the halftime show this year, you’ve got a great opportunity this Friday night as the Muscle Shoals High School Football team plays at home in the first round of the playoffs. Come on out and support the team and the band. It will be a fun atmosphere!
It’s another busy week, it’s concert week! Gonna be good!!
