High School Band, 11/1-11/5

Good morning band family.

Today we begin working as a large group for our Veterans Day evening program. The program is next Tuesday (11/9) evening at 6pm in our auditorium.

Tuesday night we have our post marching season band booster meeting. We will recap the season, talk about the things in our immediate future, and even things for next semester. Attendance this year has been fantastic and I hope it continues tomorrow night. I will speak about the band program and state championships. I plan to praise the kids, so if you like that kind of stuff see you tomorrow night 🙂

Thursday in our auditiorium is our middle school Fall concert with our beginner and 7/8 grade band as well as the middle school chorus.

Friday, we have our first playoff game at home against last years state champion Pinson Valley. Gonna be a shootout! Playoffs are always different in that the AHSAA gets involved with gates and ticket sales. Concession stand workers and band dads will need specific passes. I will get that taken care of.

Every day after school this week we have winterguard clinics in the band room.

Next week: Tuesday night Veterans Day Concert November 9th at 6pm, Wednesday at 3:30 percussion ensemble interest meeting in the percussion room, Friday night away game (most likely Oxford)

NO MORE AFTER SCHOOL MARCHING BAND REHEARSALS AT ALL! Matter of fact, the only days we will practice marching band at all will be Fridays. This week, we will not do anything marching band until 5:30 Friday.
