I was pretty emotional this morning as I woke up remembering the many faces of students, parents, and directors who made the 29th TVIMC a huge success! Just like Mr. Waters reminded us at our last meeting, there were some hiccups along the way…however, everyone handled it graciously and kept their eyes on making yesterday a success!!
Parents, I am amazed each time I get to work closely with your students. I hope you know just how special they are! From working alongside parents in the concession stand, admission gates/fan favorite table, security in the stadium, hospitality at both schools, meeting the bands/chaperones to stamp hands, leading bands to warm up, performance, and back….THEY ARE AMAZING!!! I love getting to know them a little better each time I am around them! Their performance last night moved me to tears – knowing all the hours they put in yesterday and then performed their hearts out last night! WOW!
It has been two years since we were able to host our competition. We had to dust some cobwebs off a few things and truly come together to make sure we were organized and ready – a brainstorming of sorts! Your executive board did just that! We have some of the best problem solvers and thinkers around – not to mention hard working and dependable! I am so grateful for them all!!!
PARENTS, YOU ROCK!!!! I am not sure of a better way to say it than that 🙂 I got to see many of you in action, but I missed seeing you all! Please know how much we value you!! For those I did get to see, I was told how much fun you had and how glad you were able to be a part! From our grillers who made sure we didn’t run out of hamburgers and hotdogs (including 240 hotdogs for UNA’s band!), to the concession stand who was wide open non-stop all day….our Pit Crew who worked outside all day parking buses, transporting equipment to and from the field, controlling traffic and parking to keep the bands safe and the last to leave last night….those in hospitality making sure our visiting band directors and bus drivers were provided with drinks and food and a comfortable place away from the action…gate workers who welcomed a huge crowd into our stadium with a smile….our first aid staff who are always ready to tend to an injured band member or medical issue that arises…behind the scenes treasurer team collecting and counting all day….and those who work in registration meeting the band directors and staff as they arrive, making sure all our i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed….THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Those words don’t seem like enough, but I wholeheartedly mean it with all I’ve got!
Directors, thank you for ALL the behind scenes work that you do that only a few know about! You each have so many things to organize and direct while in the middle of our competition and football season. YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!
We are also very thankful for all of our school administrators – Dr. Kevin Davis and Mr. Dusty Davis along with our awesome janitorial and lunchroom staff and our MSPD officers! They each played a key part in yesterday’s success!
I hope you each get some rest today and know how appreciated you are!!!
See you Friday night 🙂 YWNWA
