Performance Info for 7th and 8th grade Band Members

Students and parents,

Here is the info for the upcoming performance/recording session that will include both the 7th and 8th grade MSMS Bands.

Date of Performance – Monday, March 15, 2021

Location – Grace Life Church (directly across Avalon Avenue from Muscle Shoals High School)

Times – 8th grade needs to be in their seat at 5:30 p.m. Their playing/recording will begin a 6:00 p.m. 7th grade needs to be in their seat at 7:00 p.m. Their playing/recording will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Attendance – This is a performance that will be sent to the state for our annual assessment. The kids have worked long and hard on this music. We need each child in attendance that evening.

Concert Dress – Each child will need to be dressed in their concert attire for this performance.

Here’s what the kids need to wear for the performance Monday night:

Concert Attire for 7th and 8th Grade Band Students

Seating for parents/family will be limited in this venue. We need to limit it to 2 adults per child in the band. There are no tickets for this event. Chairs will be set up for an audience. Social distancing will need to be observed and masks will need to be worn. Once the 8th grade finishes, we will need to clear the room for the 7th grade band members and their families.

Everyone will need to enter Grace Life Church on the East side through the glass doors. The area where we will be playing is directly to the right as you enter the glass doors.

This performance will be somewhat different than how we have done things in the past. There is a possibility that we may do several “takes” of a song. We may end up playing each song multiple times to give us an opportunity to select the best “take” for our assessment submission.

Students will need to take their instruments and music home with them after school on Monday, March 15. The directors will take care of the percussion equipment and tubas.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Monday evening.

Band kids, we have 2 days left to “Cross the T’s and dot the I’s”. Let’s have a good day tomorrow when we come back to school. Already looking forward to it!

Seay everyone tomorrow morning!
