Good morning folks. Our Christmas Concert will be a little different this year compared to years past. We have been talking with the kids the past two days about the particulars of the concert. Here’s the info concerning the night of the concert.
6th grade concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. 6th grade students will need to be in their seat on the stage at 5:30 p.m.
7th grade concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. 7th grade students will need to be in the high school bandroom with their music and instrument at 6:15 p.m. Mr. Waters and Mrs. Hood will be in there to show the kids where to sit and where to place their instrument cases.
8th grade concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. 8th grade students will need to be in the high school bandroom with their music and instruments at 7:15 p.m. Mr. Waters and Mrs. Hood will be in there to show the kids where to sit and where to place their instrument cases.
The auditorium will need to be cleared after each concert so sanitizing can take place for the next group to come in, both spectators and performers. For example, once the 6th grade band finishes its performance, they will need to get with their parents and exit the building. Same for 7th grade and 8th grade.
We have been made aware that there will be a limit as to how many people we can have in the auditorium due to COVID. Each student will receive 4 tickets for their particular groups concert.
Masks will need to be work by those in attendace.
We will also be utilizing Facebook Live to livestream our concert that night. If there are folks who are unable to attend, they can still watch and listen to the livestream. Our Facebook page for the middle school band is “Muscle Shoals Middle School Band”. If you are not a member, you will need to request to be a member.
Please remember the concert attire for the students:
Boys: Khakis/Slacks, dress shirt, belt, nice shoes. Black pants are fine, as well.
Girls: Blouse/Dress/Pants. Skirts/dresses need to be at least mid calf. Black pants are fine, as well.
We would like for the kids to be in red, green, and or white. Christmas Colors!
Please no blue jeans or tennis shoes for this performance.
If you have any questions, please call me at school or email dseay@mscs.k12.al.us
We are excited that we are going to get to perform, albeit a little different!
Stay safe everybody!
