We have MANY things going on this week!
First, it’s concert week!!!!
The 8th grade band will be performing at the MSMS Veterans Day Program on Wednesday, November 6 @ 1:30 p.m. The 8th grade will need to wear MSMS Band Shirt for the performance that afternoon. This is always one of the highlights of the year. We always look forward to playing and performing at the Veterans Day Program. I will give more details to the 8th grade band members in class tomorrow morning concerning the logistics of the afternoon.
Next, on Thursday evening November 7 @ 7:00 p.m., we will be having our Veterans Day Concert in Stratford Auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School. *This is a required concert for ALL MSMS Band students. (6th, 7th, and 8th grade)
8th grade students should be ready for warm-up and sound check on stage at 6:00 p.m. 7th grade students should be in the MSHS Chorus Room at 6:15 p.m. for warm-up. 6th grade students should be in the MSHS Band Room at 6:15 p.m. for warm-up.
All students should wear either their band shirt OR nice attire in a patriotic nature (red, white, blue). Please, no blue jeans or tennis shoes. Young ladies, please make sure skirt/dress lengths are appropriate when standing, and more importantly when sitting.
This event is free and everyone is invited. The doors to the auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.
Please also be aware (7th and 8th grade band members). The Alabama Middle School Honor Band Application deadline is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4!
We have had many students turn in forms/deposits for the spring trip in May. This is exciting! Many have asked about bringing their forms/deposits this week. That is fine, but we would like to get them all turned in this week so we can go ahead and move on with our planning. It’s going to be a great trip! If you have any questions, please email me at dseay@mscs.k12.al.us
Jazz Band will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings this week, 7:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. The jazz band will perform at the Christmas Concert that is scheduled for December 3.
It was a great weekend for the MSHS Trojan Marching Band! The band came in second place in the Alabama State Marching Band Championships @ Pelham High School. The band also received the highest Music score as well as the highest Percussion score! Congratulations to the high school band members on a job well done! If you haven’t seen the high school marching band show this year, let me encourage you to come out this Friday night to the first round of the football playoffs. MSHS will be playing Albertville High School in the first round. You will get to see two fine bands in performance! This game will be here in Muscle Shoals.
It’s a busy week, folks. Lot’s of stuff going on! Looking forward to it. Seay everyone tomorrow!
