Parents and Students of 7th/8th Grade Pep Band Members:
The start time for the games on August 29 has been pushed back to 6:00 p.m. due to excessive heat forecasted for Thursday.
Here’s our NEW schedule for that afternoon/evening:
6:30 p.m. – Kids are ready in the band room; begin rehearsal (kids need to be in shorts and their MSMS Band T-Shirt)
7:10 p.m. – Line up, start moving into the stadium
~ 7:30 p.m. – 8th Grade game begins
Band will play before halftime & during halftime of 8th grade game for the MSMS Color Guard.
After halftime, we will see how we are on time. If it’s getting late, we will go back in. We could play some during the 3rd/4th quarter if time allows.
Parents, please be at the middle school to pick up your kids around 8:30 p.m. We may be back before then or after, just depending on how fast/slow the 8th grade game is going. This is a little later in the evening than what we usually do for middle school games, but under the circumstances I think this time change is a good move. The sun at 5:00 p.m. in the bleachers on Thursday will be brutal… I feel much better about taking the kids out later in the evening once the sun begins to set.
We will have water available for all the kids on Thursday. Parents, please have your children start hydrating now for Thursday. Water, water, and more water! Also, please have them eat something before they come back to the school on Thursday evening.
