Info for the week of 9/20 – 9/24

Good morning MSMS Band. Here’s the info for this week:

  1. Chair Tests for 8th graders will begin the week of September 27. These will happen during the 1st period band class. Each student will play their chair test material for either Mr. Seay, Mrs. Hood, or Mr. Waters. Students can check their Google Classroom or this website for recordings of their prepared piece that they will be playing (in addition to their scales)
  2. 7th grade will be having their first chair test in the coming weeks. They will play Line 147 and Line 157 out of their Essential Elements Book 1. We will set the date for these chair tests this week and share that info ASAP.
  3. Our final MSMS Football Game of the year is Tuesday, September 28. There will only be one game that evening. The 7th and 8th grade Pep Band members will need to be in the band room, wearing their gray MSMS Band T-Shirt, at 4:30 p.m. We will move to the stadium at 5:00 p.m. and play the Start Spangled Banner before the game begins. The game should last around an hour or so. Parents, please be ready to pick up your child from the MSMS band room around 6:30 p.m. This will not be as late an evening as there is only one football game.

All 7th and 8th grade band members will need to meet at the middle school band room that evening at 5:30 p.m. We will walk from the band room and meet the high school band as they march into the stadium. The 7th and 8th graders will sit in the stands and play with the high school band that evening. We will wear our gray MSMS Band T-shirts that evening. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. We will take the the middle school students back to the band room after halftime that evening.
