Fall Fundraiser is underway!
All the MSMS Band students received fundraiser packets in class on Monday this past week. We are asking that each family please sell 10 items. I would encourage everyone to set up the online option. There is a sheet in each students packet that gives instructions on how to do it. We have had MANY people buy online from us in the past. This could be an easier way to get 10 items sold! The turn in date for the Fundraiser Order Forms and money will be the week of September 3rd. The online portion of the sale for MSMS Bands will close on September 9th.
Thank you again, in advance, for all your help with this fundraiser. If you feel that you cannot sell any items, we ask that you kindly send a $50 fair share with your student. But, WE WOULD RATHER HAVE THE KIDS SELL THE ITEMS!!! Please let me know if I can help you all in any way or if you have any questions. I’ll be glad to help you out the best I can.
Homecoming Parade for 8th Grade
The Muscle Shoals Homecoming Parade is scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, September 6. The 8th graders will be participating in the parade. They will be riding on the flatbed of an 18 Wheeler Tractor Trailer. There will be an early dismissal from school that day. Once the parade schedule and lineup has been finalized, I will send out that info to all of you. The 8th Grade band kids will need to wear their MSMS Band T Shirt for this performance.

August 29 – MSMS Home Football Game (7th & 8th Grade Pep Band will perform)
September 3 – MSMS Home Football Game (7th & 8th Grade Pep Band will perform)
September 6 – Muscle Shoals Homecoming Parade (8th Grade only)
September 9 – Percussion Parking Lot Preview @ MSHS (Dr. Frederick will be sending out more detailed info to the 7th/8th Grade Percussion Students about this event)
September 19 – MSMS Home Football Game (7th & 8th Grade Pep Band will perform)
September 26 – MSMS Home Football Game (7th & 8th Grade Pep Band will perform)
October 4 – BAND NIGHT!! (This is where the 7th/8th Grade Band Members will come and play with the MSHS Band during the first half of the MSHS vs. Athens football game. This is a home game for Muscle Shoals)
We will keep on working on our pep band tunes this week with 7th and 8th grade. Our pep band will be quite large. Along with our MSMS Color Guard members, we will be 128 members strong!!! That’s a LARGE middle school band!
6th grade band members, keep practicing your mouthpiece buzzing, head-joint sounds, and tonguing. Pass off sheets will be coming up very soon!
