Good morning MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week!
- Our first 7th and 8th grade Pep Band Performance will be on Tuesday, August 30. We have been diligently working in our 1st and 3rd period classes on this material and we are looking forward to playing at our first home football game. Each child will receive an MSMS Band T-Shirt that they will need to wear to the game. Each instrument player will also need a lyre and a flipfolder. This will hold their music for them while the play in the stands.
- I will make another post later this week with a detailed schedule for August 30. 7th and 8th grade parents please be on the lookout for that information.
- Another reminder about 7th and 8th grade band members obtaining their concert attire. Each child needs to have their concert attire by Tuesday, September 6.
- Our AMEA Concert preparation will begin in class (1st and 3rd periods) on Wednesday, August 31. In addition to our work in class, we will need to have some morning rehearsals with certain groups. These morning rehearsals will allow us to get both of our classes together at the same time in smaller groups as we begin to learn our concert music for January. Here is the morning schedule for September:

Just a reminder about our band fees: 6th Grade is $65, 7th & 8th Grade is $85, Instrument Rental Fee (if you play a school owned instrument) is $50. You can pay through My School Bucks or your child can bring cash or check to me in the bandroom. Please make checks payable to MSMS Band.

September 30 – Band Night (7th and 8th grade band members with the MSHS Trojan Marching Band)
