Good afternoon MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
Spring Concert is THURSDAY May 9!
What: MSMS Bands Spring Concert (6th, 7th, & 8th grades)
When: Thursday, May 9 @ 6:00 p.m. (kids need to be there at 5:30 p.m.)
Who: All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band members
Where: Muscle Shoals High School, Charles R. Stratford Auditorium
7th and 8th grade band students will need to wear their concert attire. 6th grade concert attire will be nice cloths, much like they wore for the Veterans Day and Christmas concerts.
There is no charge for admission! We hope to see MANY of you there as we present our final concert of the school year!
Morning Rehearsals for 7th and 8th Grade
We will need to have a few morning rehearsals with the 7th and 8th grade as we gear up for our final performance of the year. These morning rehearsals will be Tuesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 9 @ 7:15 a.m. in the middle school band room.
GREAT showing at Solo and Ensemble!
We will be passing out a LOT of hardware in class on Monday!! The kids who participated combined to attain 30 superior medals for Solos and 70 superior medals for Ensembles! Thanks to everyone who worked up music to participate in the festival. It’s always a highlight for us at the end of each school year!
Marching Band Auditions for Winds and Percussion
Winds – We will start listening to 8th graders in class this week for their marching band audition.
Percussion – These auditions will take place on Friday, May 10 during 1st period.
Band Banquet Invitation for Current 8th Graders
May 13th, Band Banquet: Cox BLVD Church of Christ
Students 8th-12th grades and their families are invited to this event. Student tickets are free, guest tickets are $15. Everyone must RSVP on MySchoolBucks. Rachel Wammack Benefit Concert
We need to pack this place out for this concert! This event is to kick-off our fundraising campaign for new band uniforms for the high school band. We need to raise $100,000. We hope you can attend and bring your whole family! It is one week from today! Really looking forward to this event!
