Info for the Week of 5/13 through 5/17

Good morning MSMS Band!

Here’s your info for the week:

Great Job at the Spring Concert

Both the 6th grade and the 7th/8th grade band performed VERY well at the concert this past Thursday. It was a wonderful way to end the performance time of the school year. It was so good to see SO many people in the auditorium for the concert. Thank you to ALL who were able to make it! This music was challenging for all the groups and they successfully pulled it off!

Marching Band Auditions for 8th Graders

Marching band auditions will continue this week for 8th grade band members who will be moving up to 9th grade band. These auditions must be completed this week.

Pass Off Week for 6th Grade

We will utilize this week for Pass Off’s for our 6th grade. Our final belt ceremony of the year will be this Friday. We want to be able to give out as many belts as possible before we go home for the summer! Let’s get after it 6th Grade!

End of Year Wrap Up

It’s been a wonderful year here in band at the middle school. Mrs. Hood read off several of the accomplishments the band, as well as individuals in the band, have received. All of this does not happen by accident. The kids buy in to what we do in band every day. They work very hard and it shows when they play and perform. Great job band kiddos!

I would also like to thank Mrs. Hood, Dr. Frederick, and Mr. Wiseman for all the support they gave to me and the kids during my absence back in the winter. I’m very thankful and grateful for all 3 of them.

The future of the band program continues to look great. I, along with Mrs. Hood and Dr. Frederick, are very proud of the kids in the MSMS Band Program. There promises to be a lot more GREAT things to come!

Job well done this year! You have represented your band, school, community, and family very well.

The final week of classes has arrived! Let’s finish it the right way!

Seay you all on Monday!
