Good evening MSMS Band
Here’s the info for the week:
Thursday, February 17 is a busy day for our 7th and 8th grade band. We will have a morning rehearsal at 7:15 a.m. That evening, at 5:30 p.m., they will meet at the high school bandroom at 5:30 p.m. to work with Mr. Terry Ownby and Mr. Pat Stegall. These gentlemen will lend their expertise to all us that evening as the kids prepare for MPA.
We are aware that there is the possibility of severe weather on Thursday. If any updates/changes need to occur concerning Thursday’s events due to bad weather, we will let everyone know ASAP.
We had a great weekend with our District Honor Band Participants. Here’s a pic of them right before the played their concert Saturday afternoon:
We hope to know our MPA Performace date and time sometime this week. More than likely, we will play either the morning of March 8 or March 9 @ Norton Auditorium at UNA in Florence. Once our date/time has been assigned, we will let everyone know.
Many of you know by now that we have a middle school band student who was in an automobile accident Saturday afternoon. Tidus Hollander, 8th grade trumpet, is in the hospital in Birmingham and is currently listed in critical condition. Tidus sustained several injuries and has a long road of recovery ahead of him. We ask our band family to join together to pray for Tidus and his family. I know his family would greatly appreciate this. As updates on Tidus’s condition are made, we will update everyone when we can. Here’s a picture of Tidus from one of our middle school football games back in the fall:
Have a great evening everybody.
Looking forward to Seaying the kiddos in the morning.
