Good afternoon MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
7th and 8th Grade Concert Attire
All 7th and 8th Grade Band members will need to start obtaining their attire for this year’s concerts. We will wear these for every concert this season, including our AMEA Performance in January.
*We will have pictures made in our full concert attire sometime in Mid-Late September. The date/time/location will be announced in the near future. We will need every 7th and 8th grade band member in attendance for these pictures in their concert attire.*
Boys – White button down shirt, black dress pants (not jeans), belt, black socks, and a pair of black dress shoes.
Girls – Long black dress (please see the pic and click the link). Many of the ladies in the 8th grade band may have their black dresses from last year. Those are fine to wear again for this year. If you need to obtain another dress (this includes this year’s 7th grade girls), here is what we are wanting you to purchase:

7th and 8th grade ladies may choose to wear the white shirt, black pants, belt, black socks, and black dress shoes if they would not like to wear the dress. The long, black dress is preferable.
The pictures that will be taken in September will appear on the AMEA website (www.myamea.org), our AMEA concert program, and in the “Ala Breve”. The “Ala Breve” is a magazine that is published quarterly and is mailed to all music educators in the state. We want to look our best for these pictures as MANY people will see them.

Band Fees
6th Grade Band Fee is $65
7th and 8th Grade Band Fee is $85
Instrument Rental Fee (school owned instruments) is $50
These can be paid online through My School Bucks or your child can bring cash/check to me. I will receipt it once I receive it. Please make checks payable to MSMS Band.
Class this Week
We will begin working on our pep band/color guard routine music with the 7th and 8th grade band.
6th graders will continue working on their flash cards as well as some mouthpiece/instrument work. We should finish instrument testing our new students.
