Here’s your info for the week:
Jazz Band Rehearsals
Tuesday, February 7 @ 7:15 a.m.
Thursday, February 9 @ 7:15 a.m.
Monday, February 13 @ 7:15 a.m.
Thursday, February 16 @ 7:15 a.m.
The jazz band will perform at the MSMS Black History Month Program on Friday, February 17. The program will take place at 8:30 a.m. in the gym.
Shoals Area Honor Band Auditions
Shoals Area Honor Band Auditions will be Tuesday, February 7. The tryouts are here at MSMS and will begin at 5:00 p.m. All the MSMS Band kids who are trying out will need to make sure they get their instrument and tryout music out of the bandroom before 5:00 p.m. as the bandroom will be used as a tryout room. The warm up area will be in the MSMS Commons. The kids who are auditioning need to be at MSMS to tryout by 5:00 p.m. There are no tryout times. The kids simply need to find their tryout room and get in line.

If a band student is selected to be in the honor band, they will need to attend that honor band rehearsals on March 10 and March 11. There will be a concert on Saturday afternoon, March 11 @ Florence High School. The honor band rehearsals will also take place at Florence High School. There is no charge to attend the concert.
District Honor Band
We will have 17 MSMS Band students attending the ABA District 3 Honor Band!

Evening Rehearsal for 7th/8th Grade Band Members
We will have one more evening rehearsal for our 7th/8th Grade Band as we prepare for Music Performance Assessment. This will take place in the high school band room on Tuesday, February 28 @ 6:00 p.m. Both the 7th and 8th grade bands are learning two more pieces of music for Music Performance Assessment. We will need to combine the groups for one more evening rehearsal before we go to UNA on March 7.
