Info for the week 2/3 through 2-7

-HAWAII Interest Trip meeting will be at the high school Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the bandroom. I encourage all who are considering going on the trip to attend this meeting. This will truly be the trip of a lifetime with wonderful performance opportunities for the students. The trip is scheduled for December of 2021. I can hardly wait! I hope many of you are thinking about going. I have never been myself, but based on everything I have heard and seen from testimonials from those who have been before, it promises to be fantastic!

-Strawberries order forms and money are due Friday this week. We are asking each family to sell 3 flats or contribute $30 fair share.

-We still have some families who have not turned in their spring trip deposit for January. Please send those with your child this week.

-Jazz band will meet Monday and Wednesday this week, 7:15-7:45. The jazz band will be performing at the MSMS Black History Month Program on Thursday, February 13 at 8:30 a.m. This program will take place in the MSMS Gym.

-The next performance for all three grades (6th, 7th, and 8th) is Thursday evening, February 20. 7th graders will need khakis and polos for this performance (we obtained polo sizes last week from all the students). 8th graders will need their formal concert attire for this concert. 6th grade will need to wear nice clothing, much like they wore for the Veterans Day and Christmas Concerts.

-We will be speaking with the upcoming 6th graders this week about joining band when they come to the middle school. The 8th grade band will also be playing for them on Thursday morning.

-Shoals Area Honor Band Tryouts are this Tuesday evening at MSMS. Auditions begin at 5:00 p.m. Requirements are the same for this tryout as the kids had for their chair test back in the fall. Students – be working on your SCALES, SCALES, and SCALES. as well as your prepared piece. 🙂

-It’s a busy week, folks. Lot’s happening. But it’s good to be a part of it! Looking forward to getting started back in the morning!

Seay you all in the morning!
