Good afternoon MSMS Band,
First, I would like to say how pleased we all were with the concert this past Thursday evening. The middle school bands played very well. The directors are very proud of all the students. They worked very hard to get that program ready and they did not disappoint! The combined 7th and 8th grade band had a VERY nice sound.
Our 6th and 7th grade beginners were so very well focused! Not only did they play well, but their behavior was fantastic. Great job by all of our students, all the way around.
Thank you to all the friends, family members, neighbors, high school band members, and VETERANS who were in attendance Thursday night. We are so thankful for your support of the music programs at Muscle Shoals Middle School.
Once again, a big thank you to our Veterans and their families for their service to this country. May God Bless you!
Here’s what’s going on this week:
- The 7th and 8th grade band members will be performing on Wednesday morning, November 10 in the MSMS Gym for our annual Veterans Day Program. Per Mrs. Ritter’s instructions, this assembly will be limited to students, Teachers/Staff, and Special Guests. Veterans in our community and of our students are welcome to attend. If another adult is bringing a Veteran, they are welcome to stay as well. Please click on the link below if you are a Veteran or have a Veteran in your family that will be attending.

*We would like for the 7th and 8th graders performing that day to wear red, white, and/or blue. Patriotic colors would be very nice for our school Veterans Day Program.
2. There will be no school on Thursday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
3. All State Lessons will continue this Monday and Tuesday after school until 4:30 p.m. *Parents, if your child is auditioning , please keep encouraging them to work on their tryout material, particularly the memorizing of their scales. The kids know that this is the most important part of their audition. These tryouts will take place on Saturday, January 29 at Muscle Shoals High School. I enjoy working with the kids after school, but it will take daily practice on their part to get their audition material ready for the tryouts in January.
4. Our next performance for all the groups will be Monday, December 6 in the auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School. This will be our Christmas Concert.
