Good afternoon MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
- We have 2 morning rehearsals for our 7th/8th grade members this week. Both of these rehearsals will be full band (brass, woodwinds, and percussion) @ 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25 & Thursday, October 27.
- Our first concert of the year will be on Tuesday, November 8 in the auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School. This concert will be for all grade levels (6th, 7th, and 8th). The concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. There is no charge for admission. More details concerning call times/locations for our band students will be given out/posted on the website next week.
- Our fall fundraiser items will be delivered on Tuesday, November 1. These will be sorted by student name in the percussion room at the middle school. All items must be picked up that day. I will be at the middle school band room until 5:30 p.m. that evening for parents to come pick up their child’s items.
- Chair tests for the 8th grade will begin on Monday, October 31. These will take place during class time that week.
Congratulations to the Muscle Shoals High School Trojan Marching Band on their most recent achievement: 2022 6A Alabama State Marching Band Champions!!
The band competed at Spain Park High School on Saturday, October 22. With an overall score of 92.92, they took the TOP SPOT in Class 6A. They also received the Outstanding Musical Performance Award for class 6A.
The majority of these high school band students began as 6th graders, right here at MSMS. What a journey, and we are so very proud of all of them. They did a WONDERFUL job yesterday at Spain Park.
