After the booster meeting last night, the staff started brainstorming about home games. This morning, after consulting with a few people Mr.s Hood and I went to the stadium and did a bit of measuring. And here are our results and the good news.
At every home game, the entire band will be able to attend and play for the game.
I repeat, the full 136 member band will now be at the home games!
The band will sit in the end zone behind the flag pole on the west end of the stadium close to the lower concession stand. 136 Band chairs (currently loaded on the truck from graduation), two drum major podiums and speakers will be set up 6 feet apart specifically for the band.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be able to do this for all of you. Again, the administrators have been so helpful and encouraging and want what is best for us.
This is a WIN WIN for everyone. This also allows for 50 more tickets to be sold raising more money for our football team.
ALSO: parents who have spoken to me about the football game environment and not feeling great about it will be allowed to check their kids out after the performance this season only. Parents, I will allow you to make a call on that because of the situation we find ourselves in.
So, football games just got a little more normal, and I get to hear the entire band play the fight song and ESPN.
GO TROJANS!!!!!!!!!
