Happy Saturday afternoon. Back to it

Monday is going to be a good day as we finally get back together after an 11 day in a row absence from each other. I hope students have had an opportunity to practice on their own and are ready to get back to ensemble rehearsals. I know I am. This little break brought back unfortunate memories from the past two years. Not good ones. It’s time to be back together once again.

I did want to share that I am the first of the directors to contract the virus 🙂 Always have be first at everything 🙂 I will return Monday and wear a mask for several days and not miss a rehearsal thank goodness.

I have thought alot about the the return for students. 5 days out and 5 days back with masks is a good policy. We decided it couldn’t work for band on the masked days, but I have thought alot about that and think there is a way to make it work just spaces.

Students returning from sickness, please come to band rehearsal. Sitting in rehearsal with your instrument fingering along and going through the music is MUCH better than not being there. Keep your mask on and participate without actually playing. Hearing the music, hearing the instruction will be hugely beneficial to you.

Wind ensemble, we will start rehearsing Monday on the stage. I plan to really spread out the set, maybe something very unorthodox that could possibly allow everyone to play. As we get closer to MPA, we would set up in a more traditional set up. We just need to get out of that small room as much as possible. We will use it when we have to when the stage is being used for something else.

All after school rehearsals for percussion and winterguard are on for this week.

SATURDAY ALL STATE AUDITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

I am waiting for some information from our district chairman about auditions. At that point I will make a specific website post regarding volunteers for Saturday. If you have sent me an email volunteering, please keep a look out for that. Thanks.

Enjoy your weekend and see you Monday.
