Happy New Year MSMS Band!
We hope you all have had a great holiday season. It’s almost time for things to get started back!
Here’s the info for the next couple of weeks:
Wednesday, January 4 – Classes Resume (Make sure EVERYONE has their instrument when they come back to school!)
Tuesday, January 10 – Full Band Rehearsal with 7th/8th Grade Band @ 7:15 a.m. in the Middle School Band room
Thursday, January 12 – Full Band Rehearsal with 7th/8th Grade Band @ 6:00 p.m. in the HIGH SCHOOL Band Room. THIS REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY!! We need ALL students in attendance. It is VERY important. We will have some special guests with us that evening to help us in our AMEA Concert Preparation.
Tuesday, January 17 – Full Band Rehearsal with the 7th/8th Grade Band @ 6:00 p.m. in the HIGH SCHOOL Band Room. THIS REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY!! We need ALL students in attendance. It is also VERY important. This will be our final full band rehearsal before we go to Birmingham. Mrs. Ritter, who will be our announcer at the AMEA Concert, will be with us this evening. This will be a dress rehearsal.
Thursday, January 19 – AMEA Performance in Birmingham!
Here’s some general info for the parents who plan on attending the performance that day:
Performance Time – 7:00 p.m.
Performance Location – Birmingham Ballroom @ the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel

There is no charge to attend this concert. Once the concert concludes, we will come back to Muscle Shoals.
Parking at the Hotel – The best bet for parking will be the parking deck right next to the hotel. It’s located between 22nd and 23rd Street N. There is a walkway that goes from the parking deck to the hotel. There is a charge to park in the deck. They do accept Credit/Debit Cards.
I will make a post with the detailed itinerary for the day once we have it approved by our admins. Be on the lookout for that post later this week.
The kids should be back to Muscle Shoals around 10:30 p.m.
We are looking forward to having everyone back in class! It’s going to be a BUSY next few weeks leading up to AMEA!
