Monday night (tonight) we have a booster meeting. Several topics including out Pageant fundraiser.
Tuesday is Shoals Area Honor Band auditions for many of our students. This takes place at Florence Middle School. Auditions begin at 5:00pm so get there and get registered and go to your audition rooms and get in line.
Tuesday night for winterguard and percussion, rehearsals will go on as planned.
Friday and Saturday is District honor band for the students who were selected. We will depart Friday morning and head to Russellville on a bus with middle school students as well. Rehearsals will last until 9pm on Friday night. Students will need money for lunch and dinner Friday. We will also leave Saturday morning same time. Students will need lunch money. Concert will be at 2:30pm Saturday. We will give even more detailed information to those students in the next few days.
We are getting closer to Music Performance assessment every day. Our performances will take place at the University of North Alabama March 8th or 9th. We aren’t sure what days they will be yet but as soon as we find out will let you know.
To keep you “in the know”, interviews for the head director position at MSHS will be taking place over the next two weeks. It looks like the first board meeting in March may be the time the new head director is announced. Exciting times for the future of the program.
