What’s our schedule for the next two days? Well……IDA know 🙂
While a tropical storm may keep us from marching outside, we are just gonna use it as an opportunity to get better musically. We have music to memorize in the ballad and closer, a few more stands tunes to learn, and we have homecoming next week which means we need to learn “Cant’ Take my Eyes Off of You”. Plenty to do and choreography to learn for the auxiliary.
The school is about to cancel all after school activities for today (Monday). I don’t know what that means for tomorrow, but I am guessing all will be good. Remember, rain doesn’t cancel rehearsals, only directors do that.
We travel to DECATUR this week. Loading times will be the same but the departure times will be much sooner. We will plan to eat at the concession stand before the game. Temps look good after the storm passes. Highs in the low to mid 80’s which will feel like a cold front!
FRIDAY REMEMBERED:
Honestly, I hope to forget about most of that night as quickly as possible. That ending was about as exciting as it could be however. Thank goodness the night ended better than it started.
I feel the need to apologize to everyone. I take a lot of pride in my ability to make good and wise decisions about matters concerning the band program. Standing on the sideline, I had a chance to make the call to not do halftime. The problem was I wanted to do halftime. Maybe it was what we have been through, I mean we have been THROUGH IT ALL you know. It was a great stadium to perform in, and we have worked hard to perform this show. However, I just missed it. I saw the storm on radar and hoped to get the show in before it rained. We didn’t. A lot of equipment got very wet and a lot of us got very wet. Say a prayer our electronics will not suffer damage and that some of our woodwinds will be ok. We cannot control the weather as we learned that lesson Friday night. But I am very happy the way the students handled themselves and didn’t let the elements get us down.
Let’s have a good week this week! Let’s set some goals and achieve them! GO TROJANS!
