Solo and Ensemble
Students will need to bring all instruments/music home with them after school on Friday. Our time slots for Solo and Ensemble individual events are from 9:25-10:10 @ MSMS. Warm-Up is in the Commons. Students should be ready at 9:15 to begin going to stand outside of judges rooms to perform. Please dress nice and arrive early! Students will need judges’ copies of all music. We will need to take care of this in 4th block this week. Reminder: if a student signed up for S&E and have decided not to participate, they owe the band program $5.

Jazz Band: please wear all black. We will meet in the MSMS Band Room at 10:15AM to prepare for our final jazz band performance of the year!

Band Fees
All 2024-2025 band fees are past due at this time. Please get these taken care of ASAP! According to the MSHS school handbook, students cannot walk at graduation or receive their final report cards without paying all fees. Of course, if there are any hardships, please let me know through email, and I can help come up with a plan that works for you!

A reminder about band fees: CutTime is our bookkeeping program, not a place to pay fees. All fees must be paid on MySchoolBucks. We get reports every Monday of the previous week’s payments, then have to manually update CutTime to reflect changes. The school system will not bill band fees out on MySchoolBucks, so they may not show on your screen. You have to manually search for “Band” to see the 2 different links. 1. Band Fees Paid in Full, 2. Band Fees Miscellaneous. If you are paying a partial payment, you should select “Band Fees Miscellaneous.”

New Band Uniforms Have Arrived!
It was Christmas in the band room last week, as our new Marching Band Uniforms arrived way ahead of schedule. They look so awesome! An official photoshoot is scheduled to announce our new look. Now that the new uniforms are here, the old uniforms are officially for sale.

McDonald’s Grand Opening Pep Band Performance:
We have been invited to perform with the Pep Band for the Muscle Shoals McDonald’s Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, May 10th sometime between 10-3. We will rehearse that morning before we perform. We will be receiving a donation for contributing. I need the below spots completely filled, but if they are all filled and you still want to participate, please sign up under ” Extra Spots”. I can’t guarantee I can take all extra spots, so it will be first come first serve on sign ups. This will be great PR. They are providing swag items for the students. BLT members have already begun filing spots, so all spots are open to other members now! Volunteer here: www.volunteersignup.org/98M4E

Band Banquet is Monday, May 12th!:
Our annual Band Banquet will take place on May 12th at 6:30PM at the Parkview Baptist Church Gym.

Band Banquet is an event that every band member grades 8-12 is invited to attend. Not only will we be celebrating our achievements and successes as a group, but individuals will also be recognized with both director awards and student-voted awards.

Seniors will be given a senior gift, provided by our wonderful boosters, and food is provided by the good people over at Champy’s! In addition, Jerry and Lori Woolfolk will be on sight taking pictures that you will be able to order. These pictures always turn out great, and we are so blessed to have Soul Catching Photography taking pictures at our band events.

We will conclude the evening with our band slide show and 2025 Muscle Shoals Trojan Marching Band Show Reveal!

Band student tickets are free, and guest tickets (parents, siblings, friends, etc.) are $25/each. I will get a head count of students attending from section leaders, and all additional guests must purchase tickets on MySchoolBucks no later than 5PM on May 7th. No tickets will be sold at the door or sold after the deadline, as this is a catered event. Tickets are on sale now! https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/prdembd?ref=ZZQE2740XV6VW7D_ZZ5YRQY2BMOQEWK
