Good morning, everyone! This post is for all high school students and upcoming freshman! We hope you have had a fantastic spring break and are ready to finish this school year strong! This email includes important dates for the remainder of the year as well as a schedule for next school year. I know parents are already beginning to plan summer vacations, which is very exciting, as we strongly value family time. Please remember that the two weeks of band camp are MANDATORY for all MSHS Marching Band members (July 18-21 & July 25-28). If you plan to be in the marching band this fall, then vacations, college visits, etc., must be scheduled outside of these 8 days. The other summer rehearsal dates are MANDATORY for students who are not on vacation (July 7, 12, 14).
Assistant Band Director Update: Our new Assistant Band Director has been recommended to the school board for approval at this Thursday’s board meeting.

April 7-9: All-State Honor Band
April 18-22: Majorette Auditions
April 20-23: Percussion Ensemble WGI Championships
April 25-29: Color Guard Auditions
April 27: Majorette Trip to Mrs. Wilds for new members
April 30: Solo and Ensemble
May 5: MSHS Spring Concert
May 9-13: Marching Band Auditions for Winds/Percussion(high school students only, current 8th graders will audition in class at MSMS)
May 9-13: Drum Major (3:30PM) and Leadership Team (7:15AM) Clinics
May 16: Band Banquet (current 8th graders are invited. We will do our marching band show reveal at this event!!)
May 20: Night of Jazz/Honor Day
May 26: Graduation!
2022-2023 School Year Calendar:
*Special note, in the Fall please schedule the ACT for either September 10 or December 10 instead of October 22, as that is State Marching Band Championships!
