Happy post Thanksgiving. Here is to losing the 5 pounds we gained over the past 7 days, and let the Christmas countdown begin!
We come back from the holidays with two very important performances this week. Tuesday night is our Christmas Concert. This year, instead of using the middle school gym, we will be in our Auditorium.
At 6pm, the Muscle Shoals Middle School bands will have their concert, and the High School will start promptly at 7:30pm. We made the change for two major reasons; the auditorium is just a nicer place to have a concert especially for elderly who could use the conformable seats, and the 2nd is less moving of equipment! The plan is to finish the middle school concert and then give an opportunity for some to leave and some to join us. You are welcome to stay for both!!!!!!!!!!!!
Concert attire is texedo and black dress. If you have not purchased these yet, please wear all black or as close as possible.
Thursday night is our Christmas Parade. Call is 6:40 beside the Police Station. Students should dress into uniforms at the band room then walk to the starting area (or drive but think through parking and so forth).
Wednesday is parade music practice, Thursday is outside parade practice. THIS YEAR WE WILL NOT DO A STOPPING PERFORMANCE. The parade is not set up for that kind of thing anymore. It is a normal parade one song straight through! After the parade we will have hot chocolate and refreshments for the students in the cafeteria!
We are VERY excited to get started rehearsing music for next semester. Both the Symphonic band and Wind Ensemble have challenging music to learn that will push them. It will be nice to have some time to practice them before the break.
Students, if you are not a member of the band next semester, please don’t forget to clean out your lockers. We have some incoming students that will need them plus marching instrument storage areas. ALL STUDENTS please clean up your lockers.
First thing tomorrow, we will need to clean up the band room from our last football game. It was a wet game before a holiday so we left in a hurry. Lets get that cleaned up in the morning please.
Percussion ensemble will practice Thursday after school but not Tuesday due to the Christmas concert. Instruments will be set up on stage for middle school.
Students, we will need a few volunteers for back stage and student help for the middle school.
Jazz band audition material goes out Tomorrow.
Winterguard rehearsal 3:30-6:00 Tuesday. We will need to move rehearsal to another place due to concert.
