Friday night, playoff Pinson Valley/Next Week

Tonight, our third playoff game vs. Pinson Valley. Our team learned a great deal last week about the Birmingham district teams, they are strong. This game tonight is for sure to be a great game as well.

The forecast calls for rain, but it is improving slightly as the day goes on. Parents, there are so many scenarios that may play out tonight with weather i wont even try to post them all. Here is what we are going to do.

We all show up at 5:30 ready to go. Students, be prepared for anything. Bring clothes you can wear in the rain in case we go with out uniforms. The temps are not going to be cold like last two weeks. We will have ponchos in the band room for kids at 5:30. Brass and drums, your instruments handle weather fine. Just everyone be prepared! Our job is so important tonight!

Now, on to next week. Depending on the winner, we will travel to either Oxford or Birmingham. The schedule will be the same either way. Here is the reminder schedule for you NEXT WEEK if we win….

Friday, 11/29 Thanksgiving Break

2:00 load trucks and trailer

3:00 depart for Oxford or Clay Chalkville

4:30 stop somewhere for dinner

5:45 back on the road

7:00 gametime

I’m thankful we have a home game this week with the weather forecast. I’m thankful we get another game for our seniors and our football team. I’m thankful for the revenue this will bring in for our boosters and concessions. I’m thankful for band parents who consistently sign up to help where it’s needed. I’m thankful for the students and coworkers I get to work with every day. I’m thankful for this school, this community, and the support we feel for all the kids involved in our band program.

You gotta believe!!!

GO TROJANS!
