Complete Schedule for MSHS Marching Band 2020
Here is a complete schedule of rehearsals and performances for the entire marching band season (minus playoffs). While these are still “pending”, as pretty much everything in the world is pending, at least we have this to go by. Please read the instructions for the virtual students and the AB schedule.
—Fridays are a wildcard due to A/B school schedule or full school schedule. When the school system decides to go full school schedule, Friday’s will change to a 1:38-3:15 rehearsal.
—Students going full virtual for the entire semester will report to the attendance block on the field every rehearsal at 1:38. In the event of rain, report to the auditorium. You must check in for attendance while on campus. Will not be through the office, more explanation later on how.
—Students during A/B schedule, the days you are not learning on campus you will report to the attendance block on the field at 1:38pm. In the event of rain you will report to the auditorium. You must check in for attendance while on campus. Will not be through the office, more explanation later on how.
—Students who are on campus will enter the band room with a mask, socially distanced, grab all your things and head to the field. You will be given time to change into rehearsal clothing. When you come to school in the mornings, you will simply bring your things to the band room and set them down on the floor for the day (instruments, bag)
—Home Game Day: Students will report in their 2020 band uniforms at 5:30. We will prepare for the performance ahead. At 6:20 we will march to the stadium. At approximately 6:40pm we will take the field and perform “Corazon”. At the end of the show, we will then play the National Anthem from the field. We will then march to the end zone where we will create a formation for the football team to run through as we play the fight song. After that, we will all march out of the stadium at which time the pep band will take the stands for the remainder of the evening and the other band members will go back to the school and be dismissed.
—Away Game Day: (AB schedule) students will report to school at the designated time, load the buses and head to the game. This will be a smaller pep band so obviously no field performances for away games. If we are on a full school schedule and not AB, then students will meet after school and depart without leaving campus.
— Homecoming is currently planned for the second game vs. Columbia. Senior Night is being looked at but not decided upon. Most likely later than the first game.
