Mr. Waters:

  • Mattress Fundraiser

On Sunday, February 23, 2020, we will have our mattress fundraiser.  This fundraiser will also help students earn money to help pay for the Hawaii trip. Middle school parents who are wanting to go to Hawaii need to help with this fundraiser.  This is an easy fundraiser in that all you have to do is advertise and get customers to come to the school to buy a mattress. Customers come look at the mattresses, order them, and the mattresses will be delivered to them.  We have a representative here to talk about the fundraiser. Please get the information she is passing out and a sign to put in your yard. (Representative talked about the fundraiser)

  • Hawaii trip information-

We will leave on a Wednesday and return on the following Wednesday.  Both Wednesdays will be full travel days. We took three planes on the last trip.  We had three groups of about 40 people on each plane.

This trip is all inclusive.   The cost of the trip covers the plane, room, food, etc.  You shouldn’t have to pay for anything else other than what extras you would like to buy.

Mr. Waters went over the itinerary from the last trip.  We are hoping to set this trip up to be much like the last trip. Look at the flyer that is being passed out.  It has a lot of helpful information and will be much like what we are planning for this trip. It is an expensive trip, but it is worth the money.

Who can go?  All band students, including next year’s seniors, anyone associated with the band, auxiliary members, and band members’ family.    I am planning on asking any MSHS staff members who are interested in going with us on this trip as well.

REFUNDS- You can get a full refund up to the last payment time.  Once the plane tickets are purchased, you will not be able to have that money refunded to you. The payment plan will be set up in 4 payments and you will come to the school at the scheduled times to make these payments. The first payment is due on April 9.  Trip insurance is also available if you feel like you want to purchase it.

Instruments will go on the plane, either underneath with luggage or as a carry on.  Big instruments that cannot be put on the plane will be rented in Hawaii.

Mr. Waters will answer any questions after the meeting.

Door Prizes were given out.

President Rebecca East adjourned the meeting at 7:58.  This was approved by Ann Wilson and seconded by Tiana Brooks.
