There are a couple things I want to praise the band members about.
- Band room upkeep: The band room and surrounding areas have never looked better. After the away game Friday, the room was clean, the percussionist put their instruments together and were ready for rehearsal Tuesday, all in all it was a job really well done.
- Last night, we learned all the sets of movement 3 in 90 minutes. WE not only learned it, but had enough time to repeat it many times. Another job well done.
- Yesterday, we accomplished a great deal. Learned homecoming music, learned movement 2 music changes, put the homecoming set on the field and learned on and off the field, and learned all the sets of movement three. Everything on the TO DO list was checked off.
This has to be one of the hardest working bands I can remember. Please, keep up the good work.
Remember our discussion yesterday. Watch the video from Friday and grade it yourself. Don’t just admire the video, but really watch yourself and your section. Find the errors, it should be easy. Think about what caused them and if it was because of something you did. Look for the technique or lack of technique, look for precision or the lack of precision. Self evaluate and understand that is what we see from the tower every day. Videos and recordings don’t lie. It’s September now, time to identify, relearn, reteach, define a refine folks. We are currently 4 weeks from our first contest.
