Jazz Band will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings this week. 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
There is one week left for our fall fundraiser. We are asking each family to see 10-12 items. This will help us with things that we need at MSMS. We hope to purchase some more music stands and an additional stand rack with the money we raise. We ask that every family participate as best they can. I gave each child a copy of our fair share policy with fundraising. If you have any questions on that, please email me and I will be happy to answer them. If your child sells 10 items or more, the fair share policy will not apply to them. The turn in date for the fundraiser is Wednesday, October 16 (when we come back from Fall Break). We will need order forms and money on this date.
On Friday, we announced the plans for our Spring Trip 2020. This will be for 7th and 8th grade band students. I will attach a copy of the form here on the website that we passed out in class on Friday sometime tomorrow. We think this will be an exciting, fun trip for the 7th and 8th grade band students. Parents are welcome to attend this trip, but are not required to go. Students are not required to go, however we would love to have all 7th and 8th grade students attend. We will have fundraisers later this fall and early spring to help out with the cost of the trip. This is an overnight trip, we will have charter bus transportation, the band will be performing at the Music in the Parks Concert Band Festival, we will attend an Atlanta Braves game, and spend a day in Six Flags over Georgia. The dates for this trip are May 8-9, 2020. We will need a 25 dollar deposit per person planning on going on the trip by November 1, 2019. This will help us in our planning for hotel rooms, charter buses, and park/baseball game tickets.
We have our final MSMS Football game on Thursday, October 10. We will follow the same schedule as before. The bandroom will be open at 4:30 p.m. and each student will need to be in their section ready to go by 4:45 p.m. The pep band has a done a nice job of playing at the games this fall. The colorguard has also done a nice job in their performances.

Thursday, November 7 @ 7:00 p.m. – MSMS Band Veteran’s Day Concert @ MSHS (6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands will be performing)
Tuesday, December 3 @ 7:00 p.m. MSMS Band Christmas Concert @ MSHS (all middle school groups, along with all the high school groups will be performing at this concert)
