Good evening MSMS Band!
Here’s the info for the week:
The 7th and 8th Grade Band had a very nice 2 hour rehearsal last Thursday evening. Thank you to everyone who made it possible for the kids to be at the high school that evening. I know it was a long day for several band kids, but the rehearsal was VERY productive.
Tuesday, January 17
The 7th and 8th Grade Band will have one final rehearsal on Tuesday evening January 17 @ 6:00 p.m. in the high school band room. We will have Mrs. Ritter with us that evening. She will be reading our script for us during the concert. This rehearsal will end at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 19
The 7th/8th Grade band members will need to bring their concert attire with them to school on Thursday morning. They will change into their concert attire before we leave Muscle Shoals. Parents, we want the kids to look their ABSOLUTE BEST FOR this concert. Please assist your child in getting their attire ready for this concert: washing, ironing, shoe shining, and please NO white socks.
MANY pictures and videos will be made while the kids are performing. Jerry Woolfolk will be in attendance taking pictures during the concert, along with taking a full band picture before the concert beings.
We will leave for Birmingham @ 1:30 p.m. The band kids will be released to the band room around 12:45 p.m. All instruments (except Tubas and percussion instruments) will go on the buses with the kids. They will change into their concert attire before loading the bus.
We are taking 3 school buses to Birmingham on Thursday.

Parents may check out their child after the concert on Thursday evening. Mrs. Hood will have the sign out list once we finish the concert. Please find her to sign out your child.
We will have Domino’s Pizza for the kids after the concert. They may eat it once we get back to the buses after the concert. We will have both cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza.
I hope MANY of you will be able to make the trip to Birmingham on Thursday. Our concerts at Muscle Shoals are ALWAYS so well attended. Thank you for that! I would love to see as MANY people as possible in the audience Thursday evening. This is a performance opportunity that doesn’t come around very often. The kids have created this opportunity for themselves by their hard work and dedication to the MSMS Band program.
It will be a very special evening.
