Good afternoon MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
All State Band
Muscle Shoals Band Program had 22 students selected to participate in the 2025 All State Band Festival. Four of them came from the middle school: Annalise Seay, Kylie Biggers, Joshua Tucker, and Lily Stancil.
We traveled to Mobile on Thursday morning, rehearsals began that afternoon, and the final concerts were Saturday.
It’s a HUGE honor to be chosen to play in the All State Bands. We are very proud of our All State Band members and we encourage all of our band students to consider auditioning next year! We have a great time at All State. Here’s some pics from the weekend:
Shoals Area Night of Jazz
The MSMS Jazz Band will be participating in the 2025 Shoals Area Night of Jazz at Florence Middle School on the evening of April 22.
Here’s all the info for that evening:
What: 2025 Shoals Area Night of Jazz
When: Tuesday, April 22. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. The MSMS Jazz Band is slated to perform at 7:45 p.m. that evening.
Where: Florence Middle School Auditorium
Who: 7th and 8th Grade Jazz Band Members
The Jazz Band Members will need to wear Blue Jeans and their Black MSMS Band T Shirts for this event. There is no charge for admission.
We will NOT be taking a bus to this event. Parents, you will need to bring your child over to Florence Middle School that evening. We will need all the Jazz Band members in the auditorium at Flroence Middle School at 6:00 p.m.
Here’s the order of the groups who will be performing that evening:
6:30 p.m. – Florence Middle School
6:55 p.m. – Florence High School
7:20 p.m. – Lexington High School
7:45 p.m. – MSMS
8:00 p.m. – MSHS
We kindly ask that all Jazz Band members stay until the conclusion of the event!
Jazz Band Rehearsals this week
Jazz Band will rehearse on Tuesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 17 @ 7:15 a.m. in preparation for the Shoals Area Night of Jazz Performance.
UNA Middle School Honor Band Invitations have been posted!
Here’s the list of students who were selected to be a part of the 2025 UNA Middle School Honor Band:
Briana Bermudez, Charlene Lambert, Gracie Williams, Harper Bright, Joanna Gollapalli, Kaleen Sibley, Sofia Cienfuegos, Sydney Snipes, Catherine Hyde, Jaylee McRight, Kayatia Burt, Natalie Trotter, Prashastha Talluri, Ava Gomez, Lily Stancil, Addison Nesbitt, Judson Morris, Lennon Davis, Liam Hudson, Micah Grider, Madisyn Hodges, Madison Hovater, Jameson Michael, Nora Rickman, Annalise Seay, Gatlin Lovelace, Joshua Tucker, Leo Zhao, Austin Muse, Casen Kilpatrick, Kylie Biggers, Addison McGuire, Casen Keeton, and Elizabeth Hines.
This is a total of 34 students, which is INCREDIBLE! Congrats to all who were selected!
Each student planning on attending will need to have their parents go online and pay the UNA Honor Band Participation Fee. Here’s the link where you can pay the fee online:

I will send out a schedule to all participating students as soon as I get one.
Parents, we will not be taking a bus to this event. You will need to be responsible for taking and picking up your child from the honor band. The dates are April 24 – 26. The events will begin the afternoon of April 24, so the kids will be in school that day. They will not miss school on that Friday as we are out for a Weather Make Up Day. The concerts will be on Saturday morning/early afternoon.
Solo and Ensemble Sign Ups Have Started!
We have gotten all the solo and ensemble material put together for the students to choose what they would like to play. All the 6th grade woodwinds and brass have received their packets with their ensemble options Each child may do up to 4 events. (4 ensenbles or 1 solo and 3 ensembles).
The date of the event is Saturday, May 3 @ MSMS. Our peformance times are usually first thing in the morning. Once I get a more detailed schedule, I will share that will all of you.
This is always a HUGE event for our middle school students, particularly our 6th graders. We look forward to having MANY of them sign up to play for the Solo and Ensemble Event on May 3.
Spring Concert is May 8!
Please keep the evening of Thursday, May 8 free! It’s going to be a FABULOUS concert. The kids are playing really well in class. It’s going to be a special way to end the school year!
We got some hardware in the mail last week for the 7th and 8th Graders! It will be going in the trophy case in the hallway next to the front office!
