Happy Sunday from the band room! We had a great week from Music Performance Assessment to Shoals Area Honor Band! Countdown is 10 days to Hawaii! I’m getting really excited!
Congratulations to the Muscle Shoals High School Concert Band on receiving straight superior ratings at this year’s Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment. I was very please with the student’s performance of some very challenging literature. I hope you take some time to celebrate this awesome achievement!
We had 68 students from Muscle Shoals Middle School and Muscle Shoals High School participate in the Shoals Area Honor Band on Friday and Saturday this past weekend. They had a great concert on Saturday! Congrats again to these students!
This Week in Band:
Monday 3/10 – 4th Block Rehearsal
Tuesday 3/11 – No 4th Block due to ACT, but we WILL have Hawaii rehearsal after school 3:30-5! Mandatory Hawaii Meeting (at least 1 member per family) 6:30 PM in the band room. Winter Guard and Percussion Ensemble 5:15-8:15.
Wednesday 3/12 – half day, 4th Block Rehearsal
Thursday 3/13 – 4th Block Rehearsal, Percussion Ensemble 3:30-4:30, Winter Guard 5:15-8:15
Friday 3/14 – 4th Block Rehearsal, Winter Guard 5:15-8:15
Saturday 3/15 – Winter Guard show at Columbia Central
All-State Chair Audition/SoloFest Codes
It is unlikely that any of our alternates will be contacted, since we haven’t already been told. I will send out HeartOut Codes for chair placements individually through student email this week. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAWAII YOU SUBMIT YOUR CHAIR AUDITION/SOLOFEST RECORDING BEFORE WE DEPART. The due date is March 22nd while we are in Hawaii.
