Good morning from the band room!
Thank you to everyone involved in helping to make this weekend’s pageants a success! AND congratulations to all who had the courage to participate. It takes grit to put yourself out there, and I’m so proud of you all. I have received so many compliments on how things were ran. Over the next week, we will be going over the pageant budget to see how well it did as a fundraiser. This is our final MPA prep week! 3 weeks until Hawaii!

Friday 2/28 – UNA Faculty Recital/Sectional, Percussion Ensemble/Winter Guard Rehearsal – Joint Send-Off Performance at 7:30 at the MSMS Gym.
Saturday 3/1 – Winter Guard Show @ Thompson, Percussion Ensemble Regional Show @ Chattanooga
Winter Guard and Percussion Ensemble – Pie the Director Fundraiser
To help pay for these student’s fees, the Winter Guard and Percussion Ensemble students will be hosting a friendly competition this week. 2 donation buckets will be set-up in the band room this week. One for Winter Guard and One for Percussion Ensemble. We will continue taking donations until the end of the send-off performance on Friday. Whichever bucket has the most money wins! If Winter Guard has the most money, Mrs. Hood will be pied in the face at the end of the night, and if Percussion Ensemble has the most money, Dr. Frederick will be pied in the face at the end of the night. May the odds be in your favor!

Location: UNA Norton Auditorium
1:35 – Students report to 4th block to change into concert black attire. Use the dressing rooms behind the stage or restrooms in the hallway.
2:15 – Short rehearsal
3:00 – Load equipment
3:15 – depart for UNA
4:00 – Warm up UNA choir room
4:30 – Performance
5:00 – Sight Reading
5:30 – Results from judges
6:00ish – Arrive back at MSHS, unload

Shoals Area Honor Band Schedule
We will depart on the bus around 8:15am each morning.
Friday March 7, Florence Middle School
9:00 – 12:00 – Rehearsals
12:00 – 1:30 – Lunch – (we will have pizza for the kids brought to FMS, or they may bring their own)
1:30 – 2:15 p.m. – UNA Studio Jazz Band Performance
2:30 – 6:00 Rehearsals
Saturday March 8, Florence Middle School
9:00 – 12:00 Rehearsal (Meet at MSHS parking lot at 8:15 a.m., they will need to bring their concert attire with them to change into after lunch)
12:00 – 2:30 Lunch – (the kids will need to bring money for lunch on this day, we will bus them somewhere fast food for lunch before the concert)
2:30 – Concert Warm-up
3:00 – Concert, Florence Middle School Auditorium (There is no charge to attend this concert!!)
