Good evening MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
Veteran’s Day Concert
What: Veteran’s Day Concert
When: Monday, November 4 @ 6:00 p.m.
Who: 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Band Members
Where: Muscle Shoals High School, Charles R. Stratford Auditorium
There will be no charge for admission.
7th and 8th graders will need to be in their concert attire. 6th graders will need to dress nicely (no blue jeans, tennis shoes, or t-shirts, please!)
ALL INSTRUMENT PLAYERS (except Tubas) WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR INSTRUMENT and MUSIC/MUSIC BOOKS HOME WITH THEM AFTER SCHOOL ON NOVEMBER 4!!! The directors will take the tubas to the high school that afternoon.
8th graders will need to be on stage, in their seat, ready to play at 5:15 p.m.
7th grade band members will need to be in the high school bandroom at 5:15 p.m.
We will let 6th grade and 7th grade beginners know this week where they will need to meet that evening before they play.
The 8th grade band will perform first, along with the Middle School Chorus, beginning at 6:00 p.m. We will then move the 8th grade off the stage and bring the 7th graders onto the stage to continue the concert. After the 7th grade band plays, we will then bring on the 6th and 7th grade beginning band students to conclude the program. The 7th and 8th grade will have a section designated for them to sit in. Likewise, the 6th grade band will be in a designated section in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m. so they can listen to the 7th and 8th grade bands and chorus.
All of these students have worked very hard in class getting ready for this concert. We ask that all students stay for the entire program. It is extremely important that these kids support each other. Each class looks forward to playing their music as well as hearing the other groups perform. The concert should conclude around 7:15 p.m.
It’s going to be a great night of music as we honor our Veterans.
Concert Attire

Fundraiser Item Delivery Date
The fundraiser items will be delivered on Tuesday, October 29. They will be sorted and stored in the percussion room at the middle school. I will stay after school that day until 5:30 p.m. so parents may have an opportunity to swing by and pick up their child’s items.

We will continue to polish our Veterans Day music this week in all classes. Let’s get after it again, starting tomorrow!
