Audition season is upon us! This is for students who will be in the high school marching band next school year. This year’s 8-11th graders only.
Majorette
When: April 8-12
Where: MSHS Gym, 3:30-5
What to prepare: 60-90 second individual routine. All skills and a group routine will be taught during the week.
Color Guard
When: April 15-19
Where: MSHS Band Room, 3:30-5
What to prepare: All skills and a group routine will be taught during the week for both flag and weapon.
Winds
When: May 7-10, 4th Block (1st period for upcoming 8th graders)
Where: MSMS or MSHS Band Room
What to prepare: Winds audition material will passed out this week. It is 12 major scales (not memorized) and 2 short etudes.
Percussion
When: May 6-10, 4th Block (1st period for upcoming 8th graders) for individual auditions and after school on May 7,8,10 from 4-5:30 for group auditions.
Where: MSMS or MSHS Band Room for individuals, MSHS Band Room/Auditorium for group auditions after school for all 8-11 graders.
What to prepare: Dr. Frederick has passed out auditions packets. If you need one, please see him in the band office.
