Good evening MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
Band Night this Friday Night!
7th and 8th grade band members need to report to the MSMS band room at 5:30 p.m They will need to wear their Red MSMS Band Shirt and have their instrument & music. We will walk them over to meet the high school band at the gate to the stadium. We will all march into the stands around 6:10 p.m. We will be sitting on the visitor side. The game begins at 7:00 p.m.
After halftime, we will walk the middle school students back to the band room for parents to the pick them up. This should be around 8:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. For safety reasons, students will not be able to roam around the stadium after halftime, unless they are checked out by a parent first.
This is ALWAYS a fun event for our 7th and 8th grade band members! There is no charge for the students to go to the game. If parents would like to come, they will need a ticket.

Percussion Parking Lot Preview
The Annual Percussion Parking Lot Preview is Monday evening, September 11 @ the high school band practice field. The event starts @ 5:00 p.m. We have 8 different drumlines coming to play on Monday night, including UNA! Our 7th and 8th grade middle school percussion students will be the first group to perform @ 5:00 p.m. If you are around the the high school during that time, stop by and hear the different drumlines from across North Alabama! It’s a really nice event that’s put on every year here at Muscle Shoals. Our 7th and 8th grade middle school percussion students need to be at the high school band practice field at 4:30 p.m. per Dr. Frederick.
Jazz Band Signups
I posted a list for jazz band sign ups on the back lockers of the band room last week. The MSMS Jazz Band is open to any 7th and 8th grade band member. If your child is interested in playing in this years jazz band, please have them sign up. We typically practice once or twice a week at 7:15 a.m. in the band room. We will start these practices toward the end of September. (There are SEVERAL kids names on the list already!!)
Fundraiser Order Form and Money Last Call!
If there are any fundraiser order forms and money that have not been turned in yet, those need to brought to Mr. Seay first thing Monday morning, September 11! Thank you!

September 11 – Muscle Shoals Percussion “Parking Lot Preview” @ MSHS Band Practice Field
September 15 – Band Night for 7th and 8th grade band members
October 3 – MSMS Home Football Game (Pep band performance for our 7th and 8th grade members)
October 10 – MSMS Home Football Game (Pep band performance for our 7th and 8th grade members)
October 13 – Muscle Shoals Homecoming Parade (8th grade band members only)
October 21 – Tennessee Valley Marching Invitational (parent help will be needed on this day! Please stay tuned for more info!)
November 7 – Veterans Day Concert @ MSHS (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade will play that evening)
December 7 – Christmas Concert @ MSHS (6th, 7th, and 8th grade will play that evening)
Parents, the 7th and 8th grade band members will need their concert attire for the Veterans Day concert in November. Please be sure to have those items for your children by the end of October.
