Here’s your info for the week:
Fundraiser Order Form and Money Turn in Date
The fundraiser order forms and money are due by Friday, September 8. We are asking each family to sell 7 items. If you are unable to sell 7 items, we ask that you send $50 dollars as a “fair share”. I will have a box in the middle school band room where the students can place the order forms and money. Thank you all for your help in this endeavor!
Band Night for 7th and 8th Grade Band Members
Band night for our 7th and 8th Grade Band members is Friday, September 15. Muscle Shoals High School will play Athens that evening at James F Moore Stadium. Band night is where our 7th and 8th graders come spend an evening with the high school band during the first half of the Varsity football game. There is no charge for the band students to attend this game. The 7th and 8th grade band students will sit with the band that evening as well as play with them in the stands during the first half of the game. After halftime, I will take all the 7th and 8th grade band members back to the Middle School band room to be released to their parents. The game begins at 7:00 p.m. We should be heading back to the band room around 8:15 – 8:30 p.m. The band students will need to wear their Red MSMS Band T -Shirt.
More detailed info will be given out in next week’s post. Just wanted to give all the 7th and 8th parents a “heads up” about next Friday night.
Jazz Band Signups
I will post a list for jazz band sign ups on the back lockers of the band room. The MSMS Jazz Band is open to any 7th and 8th grade band member. If your child is interested in playing in this years jazz band, please have them sign up. We typically practice once or twice a week at 7:15 a.m. in the band room. I will let everyone know when those practices will start ASAP.
Upcoming Schedule
September 15 – Band Night for 7th and 8th grade band members
October 3 – MSMS Home Football Game (Pep band performance for our 7th and 8th grade members)
October 10 – MSMS Home Football Game (Pep band performance for our 7th and 8th grade members)
October 13 – Muscle Shoals Homecoming Parade (8th grade band members only)
October 21 – Tennessee Valley Marching Invitational (parent help will be needed on this day! Please stay tuned for more info!)
November 7 – Veterans Day Concert @ MSHS (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade will play that evening)
December 7 – Christmas Concert @ MSHS (6th, 7th, and 8th grade will play that evening)
Parents, the 7th and 8th grade band members will need their concert attire for the Veterans Day concert in November. Please be sure to have those items for your children by the end of October.
