Good morning MSMS Band! Here’s your info for the week:
Jazz Band
Jazz band will rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday mornings this week @ 7:15 a.m. The jazz band has 2 upcoming performances: May 6 @ the Solo and Ensemble Festival AND May 19 @ the MSHS/MSMS Night of Jazz. They will be judged/adjudicated at the Solo and Ensemble Festival. This will take place at Hamilton High School. We will bus the kids down to Hamilton High School that day for the event, along with all of the other kids who will be participating in the solo and ensemble event. More specific info about that day along with the Night of Jazz on May 19 will be given out closer to those dates.
Muscle Shoals Centennial Parade
The 8th grade band will be participating in the Muscle Shoals Centennial Parade on Monday evening, April 24. It will be similar to the homecoming parade. The band members will be riding on the flatbed of an 18 wheeler. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. The parade route will run for the Police Dept. all the way up to City Hall. The kids will need to wear their black MSMS Band T Shirts and jeans or shorts. The weather for tomorrow will be a little on the cool side. Kids might want to think about wearing a jacket. It’s looking like it will be right around 60 degrees at the time the parade starts. The kids will need to meet at the middle school band room at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. We will load up on the trailer and move down to the parade lineup area. After the parade, kids can be picked up back at the middle school as we will unload the trailer in the middle school parking lot.
