Good morning MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
MPA
The 7th and 8th Grade Band did a fabulous job at MPA this past Tuesday morning! They received all superior ratings for their stage performance as well as a superior rating in Sight Reading. This is a wonderful achievement for the band. Parents, thank you for getting your kids up to the school that morning! I know it was early, but the extra time we had on stage before we played was invaluable. Thank you to all who were able to come hear the band play! The directors are very proud of band kids and all the work they have put in to making this year so special.
Shoals Area Honor Band
We had 31 MSMS Band students participating in the Shoals Area Middle School Honor Band this weekend. They put on a great concert yesterday afternoon at Florence High School!

We also had 3 students who were recognized as the Outstanding Musicians for the Middle School Honor Band. They were Caroline Seay (8th Grade, clarinet), Cam Irons (8th Grade, Tuba), and Samuel Butte (8th Grade, Alto Sax). Way to go!!

Jazz Band
We will have one jazz band rehearsal this week. It will be on Thursday, March 16 @ 7:15 a.m.
UNA Middle School Honor Band
The deadline for 7th and 8th grade band members to apply for UNA Middle School Honor Band is Friday, March 17. The date of the Honor Band are April 13-15 (They would miss school on Friday, April 14). There would also be a $65 participation fee that would need to be paid if your child is selected to participate in the honor band.
