Good afternoon MSMS Band!
Our concert week has finally arrived! All three of the middle school groups will be performing Tuesday evening this week in the auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School. LOTS of info in this post concerning the concert on Tuesday night.
What – 2022 MSMS Band and Chorus Fall Veteran’s Day Concert
When – Tuesday, November 8 @ 6:00 p.m.
Where – Charles R. Stratford Auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School
Who – 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band members
There will be no charge for admission.
7th and 8th graders will need to be in their concert attire. 6th graders will need to dress nicely (no blue jeans, tennis shoes, or t-shirts, please!)
ALL INSTRUMENT PLAYERS (except Tubas) WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR INSTRUMENT and MUSIC/MUSIC BOOKS HOME WITH THEM AFTER SCHOOL ON NOVEMBER 8!!! The directors will take the tubas to the high school that afternoon.
7th and 8th graders will need to be on stage, in their seat, ready to play at 5:15 p.m.
6th grade band members as well as 7th/8th grade beginners will need to be in the high school bandroom at 5:15 p.m. I will explain to the them how to get to the high school bandroom during class this week.
The 7th and 8th grade combined bands will perform first, along with the Chorus, beginning at 6:00 p.m. We will then move the 7th and 8th grade off the stage and bring the 6th/7th/8th grade beginners onto the stage to finish out the concert. The 7th and 8th grade will have a section designated for them to be seated and listen to the beginning band portion of the concert. Likewise, the 6th grade band will be in a designated section in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m. so they can listen to the 7th and 8th grade band and chorus.
All of these students have worked very hard in class getting ready for Tuesday. It’s going to be a great night of music as we honor our Veterans. We ask that all students stay for the entire program. The concert should conclude around 7:15 p.m.
***We also have our MSMS Veterans Day Program in the gym @ MSMS on Wednesday, November 9 @ 8:30 a.m.***
The 7th/8th graders (not beginners) will be playing during the program as well! We are asking that the 7th/8th grade band members wear their Black MSMS Band T-Shirt and jeans for this event.
We will have one morning rehearsal this week as a final tune up for our upcoming concerts. The 7th/8th grade band will rehearse Tuesday, November 8 @ 7:15 a.m.
Our 6th grade classes will combine during 3rd block on Tuesday, November 8. This will give us one more opportunity to fine tune their music before the concert later that evening.
