Good morning MSHS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
Rehearsal Schedule for the week
Monday – 4th Block Concert Band
Tuesday – 4th Block Concert Band
Wednesday – 4th Block Concert Band
Thursday – 4th Block Concert Band
Friday – Pep Rally, Marching Band Rehearsal until 3:15 p.m.
The First Round of the Football Playoffs is this coming Friday, November 4. Muscle Shoals will play Hazel Green. This is a home game for us.
Here’s the schedule for that evening:
Dressed and Ready in the Band Room – 5:30 p.m.
Move to the Stadium – 6:15 p.m.
Game Begins – 7:00 p.m.
If Muscle Shoals wins the game this coming Friday, we will play in the 2nd Round of the Playoffs on Friday November 11. We should know our opponent by the end of the game Friday night and where we would potentially travel. We will perform at football games as long as the team is still in the playoffs. If the football were to lose, then football season would be over.
Chair Auditions
Chair Auditions will be done via video submission this year. The students received a packet of instructions along with their audition material earlier this month. The window for video submissions begins on Monday October 31 and goes through the end of the week. Every instrument player must submit a video recording as this is part of the grade for the class this nine weeks. Results from these chair auditions should be posted by the end of next week.
Veterans Day Concert
The band will be performing at the MSHS Veterans Day Program on Thursday, November 10. This program will start at 6:00 p.m. All instrument players will need to be in their concert attire for this performance. Black dresses for the ladies and tuxes for the gentlemen. Please make sure everyone has this taken care of before November 10. If anyone has any questions about what to get for their child concerning concert attire, please let me know and I will be more than happy to assist you!
