Good morning, band!
Oh how I miss you all! I have been keeping up with your performances online and am so proud of your hard work the past 3 weeks since I have been away. Mr. Seay, Mr. O’Bryant, and all your staff have done an incredible job making “Grow” better and better each and every week. I am so grateful to have a team that can carry on and be successful no matter the circumstances.
What an important week for the MSHS band program. The culmination of our competitive marching season is among us. I will be dropping by a few times this week just to say hello and good luck, and I will be in the stands (cheering the loudest) on Saturday when you take the field at Alabama State Marching Championships. As you head into your final intense rehearsals of the season, I hope you can take a moment to reflect upon the many positives that you have experienced throughout these last few months… from cheering on our football team and riding the bus to away performances, to becoming grand champions, to working harder and pushing through every trial with which you were faced.
I am so proud of each of you. If you feel discouraged at any point, know that you can at least say that, “Mrs. Hood and my directors are proud of me.” You made it, when others gave up. YOU MADE IT!!! This week is not about any of the directors or staff, it is about YOU. Giving your best effort for one more week and giving the performance of a lifetime on Saturday. Your number one goal should not be winning–instead, it should be the feeling of leaving the field on Saturday knowing that you did everything you possibly could to have the best run of the season… keep growing until the end. You can do this Muscle Shoals. Finish Strong. I can’t wait to see you all again this week.
With Love,
Mrs. Hood
