Good morning MSMS Band!
Here’s your info for the week:
NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY & TUESDAY! HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THE FALL BREAK!
Classes will resume on Wednesday morning, October 12.
The 8th grade Football team will be playing in the Middle School Championship Game, here at Muscle Shoals, on Thursday, October 13. Our 7th/8th grade pep band will be performing at this game. Call time to the band room on Thursday afternoon will be 5:00 p.m. The game begins at 6:00 p.m. There is only one game. Parents, this game should be over around 7:45 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. This will be our FINAL pep band performance of the year. We will not go to the concession stand for this game.

There will be a pep rally at the middle school on Thursday, October 13. The band will play at this event, too. This will happen during school hours, probably the start of 4th block.
7th/8th Grade will have a FULL BAND rehearsal on Thursday, October 13 @ 7:15 a.m.
As you all can tell, there will be a lot of band stuff going on Thursday!
Chair tests for our 8th grade band members will begin on Monday, October 31. This material was passed out to the 8th grade band members last week. These chair tests will take place during class beginning that Monday.
Finally, on Saturday, October 15, the Muscle Shoals High School Band Boosters will hosting the 30th Annual Tennessee Valley Marching Invitational here at Muscle Shoals. We have 16 high school marching bands attending this year. The first band will perform at 2:00 p.m. The final band to perform will be the MSHS Trojan Marching Band. Their performance time is 8:00 p.m. This would be a great opportunity for the middle school band kids to come out and see some bands from across the area and get a taste of what marching band is all about!
Additionally, we are in need of parent volunteers for this event. I’m sure you have seen the “pop up” that says “Volunteer for TVI Today”. This will come up every time you visit the band website this week. Please click the link and scroll the options for places to get plugged in for Saturday’s marching band contest.
